12 Jul Benefits That Your Child Will See Through Learning Music

At Little Newtons, we pride ourselves on the curriculum that we’ve worked hard to perfect. From the age groupings that we’ve outlined to the different lesson plans, we truly have taken a good chunk of time and dedicated it to discovering various methods to ensure that we are providing your child with only the highest standard of education. One of the classes that we are always so excited for are the music ones. Not only are these classes a great time, but they provide quite a bit of growth in children of this age. As one of the curriculums that is less and less common, we felt it necessary to break down just how great it is that your child is able to participate in these lessons here at Little Newtons in Maple Grove Cultivates Creativity Music is one of the studies that supports and cultivates a creative mind. Whether that mind and passion stay in music, or transform into a passion for writing, drawing or dancing, the introduction to music education at a young age promotes a creative mind. While you may be wondering what a child truly benefits from a creative mind, as opposed to individuals with stronger mathematical and science skills, it’s pretty clear cut. Being able to expand one's mind to different concepts, styles, sounds, colors and movements opens a mind to more complex ideas down the road. Enhances Focus With Other Subjects Musical classes challenge focus throughout the class. While it is a fun and exciting class to be a part of, music requires quite a bit of focus to stay on beat and to keep up with where the other instruments are. Playing in a group is also a great method for immersing children into the concept of teamwork; the sound is only achieved through the collaboration of a group. These skills transfer into other classes and situations, making this one of the best ways to develop some more serious skills. These are only two of the reasons that we find music to be an essential part of our preschool curriculum for our Maple Grove preschool curriculum. Your child will develop some amazing talents, skills and passions when they develop their musical skills in daycare. ...

But before you start reading, we suggest you catch up by informing yourself about newborn and one to four-month-old sleep habits. Four to Eight Months Babies who are four to eight months old need about 14 to 15 hours of sleep each day, and it’s the period in time when their circadian rhythms are emerging. Because of this, our child care providers recognize that it’s important to have a routine sleep schedule. Ideally, a child should sleep at 9:00 AM, 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM for short daily naps. This sleep is needed for both mental and physical development. Sleep can make or break the way a child develops, including retaining the new things learned at child care. If you want your kiddo to get the best sleep for developmental purposes, it’s time that you learn more about the required amount of sleep he or she needs. 08 Dec Prepare Your Child For Preschool With A Consistent Bedtime

It can be difficult to prepare your child for preschool in Plymouth; however, if your kiddo is getting enough sleep, school the next day should be exciting and something that they are excited for. Our preschool program in Plymouth is one that many parents rave about, which is why we’re going to give you some tips on how you can put your child to bed without any fuss to prepare them for an awesome day at preschool! Stay away from sugary foods and drinks. Limiting your child’s food and drink consumption before bed is a good idea. Believe it or not, kiddos can have a hard time falling asleep after consuming a large meal or drinking a big beverage. Peace and quiet should take place after you eat dinner. Make sure your kiddo is avoiding stimulating activities, such as TV, video games or anything that may be stimulating to their brain. Use time after dinner to relax as a family. Listen to relaxing music, talk about each other’s day or grab a book and read. Your child should know when bedtime is going to take place, so give them advance notice. Let your child know when to expect bedtime, whether that’s an hour or five minutes away, it will help to put them in the right mindset and let them finish anything they’re currently doing. Make your kid’s room a place that they enjoy! Your kid’s room should be decorated to make them feel comfort, joy and relaxation. This place is theirs and it should be a place that they want to spend time in. With that in mind, make sure that the temperature is comfortable and that their clothes and blankets aren’t restricting any movement to keep them comfortable all night long. Don’t let your child watch TV or use any electronic devices, like a computer or tablet, before bedtime. Studies reveal that kids who have these electronic devices available to them in their room and before bedtime have a tendency to get less sleep than children who do not. Establish a bedtime routine. Kids love routines, so make sure that a relaxing bedtime routine is in place for them. Routines are enjoyable, and they’re manageable for kids. You should put aside about 30 minutes each night for your child to get ready for bed. This should include a bath, reading a book, cuddling and shutting off the lights. We hope that the above tips on how to put your kiddo to bed can help your entire family prepare for the following day, especially your child who will be more than ready to take on a fun and adventurous day at preschool in Plymouth.
